Finally, I can feel freedom — that was my first thought after my flight from Yangon landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok. I can finally use social media without having to use VPN.

I was born in Karenni State, Myanmar, in 1960. I married when I was 18 years old, and by the time I was 20, I had three children, all of whom grew up with bullets flying over their heads.
